Tamara (Tita) Hernandez, Owner

Tita was born in Chiclayo and raised in Lima, Perú, before moving to Germany at 17 with her mom and siblings. Through chance she met an Airman and the crazy military life began…

After more PCS moves than she can count, Tita knows exactly how overwhelming (and exciting) starting over can be. That’s why she especially loves hosting families and fellow military members, she’s lived it, boxed it, and unpacked it herself.

She’s called three countries home and speaks Spanish, German, and English, making it easy for her to connect with guests from all over. Today, she’s the friendly face behind most of our guest interactions, handling reservations and making sure every stay is smooth, stress-free, and feels like home from day one.

Ruben Hernandez, Owner

Ruben was born in Cuba and moved to Miami at 15. In 2004, he joined the Air Force to chase his educational goals and that decision kicked off a career that would take him across the world. Military life brought him to Germany in 2008, and back in 2019, where he teamed up with his wife and a close friend to start a small business.

After living in four countries, Ruben speaks Spanish and English fluently and is still perfecting his German (it’s a work in progress). These days, he proudly calls himself retired and is enjoying life at a slower pace and spending time with his daughters, taking care of his chickens, and fully embracing the good life.

Behind the scenes, Ruben keeps everything running smoothly by managing billing and accounting for Apartment 1, Blue House 1, and BH2 and by helping bring to life whatever new project our in-house designer (wife Tita) dreams up next ;-).
